| John
Toebben NKY Coach Of The Year |
| Since
the inception of the Northern Kentucky Boys' High
School Soccer Coaches' Association, one of the
honors it has bestowed, aside from the numerous
ones given to players is the Coach of the Year
Award given to a deserving coach. This award recognizes
outstanding achievement in the arena of coaching
boys' high school soccer. This award is intended
to honor the art of not necessarily coaching victories,
but coaching players; of not coaching "wins"
but coaching young men into "winners".
As the single person who practically presided
over the birth of soccer in Northern Kentucky,
having began the recreational soccer program in
Villa Hills, the high school programs at Covington
Catholic and Covington Latin, the mens' college
program at Thomas More College and was enjoying
a successful coaching career at Northern Kentucky
University, this award is named in honor of John
Toebben, to whom much of what soccer has become
is owed. |
